The Bad Beginning

The Bad Beginning (A Series of Unfortunate Events, #1)

This is the first book of a popular series by Mr. Snicket. I'm surprised I've waited this long to read it! The Bad Beginning is very short, sweet, and straight to the point. Also very suspenseful!

Deliver us From Normal

Deliver Us From Normal

Deliver Us From Normal is about a boy named Charles who struggles with having a low-income family and not fitting in in his hometown of Normal, Illinois. When bad turns to worse in Normal though, his family moves to a disrepaired houseboat in Alabama to travel the world by sea. While Charles is there, he has to deal with a crisis and he finds the time to find himself. He learns to accept his family and his life. This was overall a good book with a good meaning, but not much happened, and when it did, it happened very slowly. I liked this book.

The Truth about Forever

The Truth About Forever

I love The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. It is a lively book, and the characters could be somebody you could relate to. Macy has her summer perfectly planned, so as to make sure nothing unexpected happens. But her summer plans are turned upside down. Her plans including a job at the library, didn't include a job at Wish Catering. And her plans with her perfect boyfriend, Jason, did not include Wes. But Macy learns to expect the unexpected, and the least likely things are sometimes the things you really need

Les Miserables

Les Misérables

Les Mis is about Jean Valjean a convict who was imprisioned for stealing a loaf of bread. He is being chased because he got rid of his yellow papers, papers that showed he was a convict. He becomes mayor and rescues Cosette, Fantine's child, who was being taken care of by the Thenardiers. Because the book is 1,463 pages long I can't write the entire description. It was a good book.

Beauty Queens

Beauty Queens

The fifty contestants in the Miss Teen Dream pageant thought this was going to be a fun trip to the beach, where they could parade in their state-appropriate costumes and compete in front of the cameras. But sadly, their airplane had another idea, crashing on a desert island and leaving the survivors stranded with little food, little water, and practically no eyeliner.

What's a beauty queen to do? Continue to practice for the talent portion of the program - or wrestle snakes to the ground? Get a perfect tan - or learn to run wild? And what should happen when the sexy pirates show up?

This crazy, yet funny book about beauty queens stranded on a no-so-deserted island makes fun of reality shows and so much more.  Fake commercials and fake reality shows included, this book reads like Gilligan's Island with beauty queens.  Enjoy!

Black Beauty

Black Beauty

This is classic book about a horse named Black Beauty. The story follows Black's life from horse fairs to taxi cabs, and from good homes to bad ones. It's interesting because it was written during a time when horse abuse was common, because horses were the way to travel. It was an okay read for me, but would be a lot better read if you loved horses.
